About Tenicka
Richard Buckminster Fuller once said, “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” I am a proud graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and Pace University in New York City. I currently teach at Vanguard High School where I have taught physics and computer science for the past three years. One of the first ideas I express to students is that our current understanding of science depends on the strength of our models. My classes all use models to help students improve their proficiency of content related milestones and are aligned to the next generation science standards. Helping students strengthen their understanding of complex topics brings me joy and, along with keeping up with my daughter keeps me on my toes.
