After finishing a degree in Anthropology from the University of Illinois, I worked for a short time in an archaeology lab. Preferring the company of living, breathing humans to bones, stones and pottery, I moved to Los Angeles and discovered that true adventure lay in education. 2014-2015 marks my tenth year of teaching high school Biology and I can honestly say that teaching is the only job I’ve ever had that has never, ever been boring… even for a minute. Having had the pleasure to work with the diverse and talented students of central LA throughout the entirety of my career, I firmly believe that good teaching begins by acknowledging that everyone has something to teach. I cannot overstate the value of the lessons I have learned from my students.
