About Rachel
I am in my 11th year as a high school chemistry teacher at Castle Park High School in Chula Vista. Over the past 11 years I have taught all levels of chemistry including general, honors, International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement. I pride myself in helping ALL students master chemistry through hands-on and minds-on learning activities. In addition to my teaching high school chemistry I have also earned my PhD in Education. My dissertation was on how to improve the number of Latino/a students choosing science careers. I found that innovative instruction and experiences that help students engage in science and see how important science is for careers is crucial. This fact has reinforced my drive to give students a fruitful chemistry experience.
