I have been teaching 5th grade for the last fifteen years and since 2002, a 5th grade science teacher at Memorial Middle School in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, a mid-sized urban district. I hold a bachelor's degree in elementary education, a master's in Educational Leadership and Management, a Massachusetts Professional Teaching license, and have successfully completed the Massachusetts Sheltered English Immersion endorsement program .Beyond certifications, my years of experience in the field of education has given me the opportunity to interact with diverse student populations and collaborate with colleagues to better engage students in learning experiences that will prepare them for future endeavors. While many of our students experience hardships and challenges outside of school, determination and perseverance pushes them to find ways to overcome these obstacles. As an educator, guiding students into understanding the significance and value of a quality education is an important task. I strive to find ways for all students to learn knowing “one size does not fill all.” I put 110% into anything I do and continue to look for new, innovative ways to facilitate effective instruction. I enjoy teaching with experienced and highly knowledgeable professionals. Thus far, my career has allowed me to grow into an educational leader, professional, and individual. I am always seeking innovative ways to challenge myself to become a better teacher to my students.
