Big Idea:Why is it important to go to college? What advice do older students have for applying to college? Students start to familiarize themselves with applying and attending college. This will serve as a frame for the work they will do throughout the unit.
Big Idea:How do you divide decimals by decimals? How can your estimation and number sense skills help you? Students work on answering these questions as they continue their work with dividing decimals.
Big Idea:Which operation should I use to solve this problem? How can I use bars to model what is going on? What are scholarships and how do I earn them? Students apply their knowledge of decimal operations to answer these questions.
