Big Idea:The water cycle is a fun lesson all on its own, but to help students understand that water can move and take on different forms is not so easy. In this lesson students will create their own water molecule adventure while following through the water cycle.
Big Idea:The art of saying thank you is so much more meaningful when students put their words on paper. In this lesson students write real thank you notes that will be mailed to give them a real world experience and motivation for genuine effort.
Big Idea:Realizing when an author is giving us their opinion is difficult. In this lesson students will use a text they know well to help them write fact and then write opinions that the author could use.
Big Idea:This lesson is designed to help students understand the importance of using their book and finding facts, over just trying to think of ideas from memory. They can see how much they remember and how much better their writing is with facts.
Big Idea:Sometimes making connections from what we have learned to our new learning is difficult. This lesson asks them to think about a connection between various lessons where equality was discussed.
Big Idea:With field trips becoming more expensive we have found bringing speakers into our school a fun way to get a "field trip" experience in, with it benefiting multiple classes. This lesson is creating a paragraph after attending an in school field trip.
