I joined the field of education in 2004, as a Teach For America corps member, serving in Atlanta, GA. After teaching kindergarten for two years, I became a Teach For America program director; coaching and mentoring first and second year teachers in grades K-12. In 2008, I relocated to Washington, D.C. and earned my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University. I taught Pre-Kindergarten for two years at Excel Public Charter School. I followed my principal to Stanton Elementary School where I was the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment. I currently teach fifth grade Reading/English/Language Arts at Easton Elementary School on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I teach the ELL cohort.
