I am a National Board Certified teacher in Riverside, CA. I was born in Mexico and received a BSc from the National University in Mexico City. Then I received a MSc in Biology from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. After some years working as a research assistant in Biomedical labs, I decided to go into teaching, following a dream of helping the community. I got my teaching credential from UC Riverside and I have now been teaching 20 years. I have spent most of that time in first grade, with some years as a Reading Recovery and Title I reading lab teacher. I have become committed to fight for teacher driven change, as a way to improve public education. When I am not teaching, planning or advocating, I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, hiking and learning to make mosaics.
