I am a late bloomer when it comes to my career. I had the privilege of being a stay at home mom for 20 years. I have eight children and will soon have our twenty first grandchild. My first job out of the house was at a daycare center the Director encouraged me to take a variety of Child Development classes. With these classes I earned my Child Development Associate Credentials and then my AA in Early Childhood Development. With the a degree in Early Childhood Development I was able to procure a lead teacher position in a Head Start Program in Phoenix. Again I was encouraged to attend more classes. I obtained my BA in Elementary Education and just recently my Masters Degree in TESOL. I have been teaching ELL Kindergarten for eight years. I have attended Thinking maps training, CLIP training and I have the Early Childhood Endorsement, SEI Endorsement and the Reading Endorsement. I have been in the top 25% in our Districts' Teacher Effectiveness for five years. During my Masters' Program I was a Teach Grant and Teacher Loan Forgiveness recipient. In being involved with my own children I have been a Girls Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader, PTA Officer, Home Room Mother, Art Masterpiece Volunteer and a Youth leader at My Church. My goal is to work another ten years. I have found that your are never too young or too old to learn. I want to continue to learn and become the best teacher I can be.
