Big Idea:Students will analyze weather maps and forecast weather conditions in specific areas. They will use observation, collected data, and weather map symbols to write a weather report about one area in the United States.
Big Idea:Words can have more than one meaning depending upon how they are used in sentences. We will define and illustrate metaphor phrases to show the different visual images the words create for readers.
Big Idea:How do scientists analyze data in a controlled experiment, and communicate their findings? Students conduct their controlled experiment, analyze their data to write a four part conclusion, and have a little fun with a science induced soda-pop geyser.
Creating our Government Through Blood, Sweat and Fears
Big Idea:Life changes. People change. Ideals change as society grows and matures. What was good for mankind years ago may not continue to be good for people of today. To ensure we protect our freedoms we need to evaluate what ideals we still believe in.
