Celebrate Earth Day With These Fun and Educational Lesson Plans

As we approach Earth Day, it’s important to reflect on the significance of this holiday and how we can incorporate it into our teaching.

In school, we have a unique opportunity to teach our students about the environment, the impact of human activities on our planet, and the importance of taking care of our natural resources and delicate ecosystems. By incorporating environmental education into our teaching, we can inspire the next generation to become responsible and conscious stewards of the Earth.

There are many other ways that we can teach our students about the environment, such as exploring local habitats, conducting waste audits, creating green spaces, and learning about renewable energy sources. By providing students with these opportunities to engage with the environment, we can foster a sense of curiosity and wonder about the natural world, as well as a desire to take action to protect it.

If you are still looking for Earth Day activities, here is a round-up of lesson plans created by BetterLesson master teachers, complete with standards alignment and suggestions for differentiation.
