BioFourth grade and special education teacher with Flagstaff Unified School District, J.Q. Thomas Elementary, located in beautiful Northern Arizona. Growing up in Flagstaff, I pursued my Bachelors degrees from Northern Arizona University in both Special Education and Elementary Education. In 2010, I received my Masters Degree in Education: Early Childhood from NAU. Currently I am pursuing another Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. I am a member of the Flagstaff, Arizona, and National Education Associations. I am also a RODEL Foundation MACRO math teacher. I have worked with United Way of Northern Arizona in instructing and administering assessments for their early intervention program targeting pre- kindergarten students. My experiences in education are in the areas of Fourth Grade, Kindergarten, First Grade, Special Education, reading recovery, math intervention, curriculum mapping, and peer coaching. Through peer coaching, I collaborated on the iREAD initiative for the district. This program focused on the successful implementation of iPads to enhance student engagement and achievement in ELA and Math. My husband, Brian, and I enjoy hiking and traveling. We have four children, two girls (23 and 19) and two boys (18 and 12). We spend most of our time rooting them on in baseball, softball, football, and lacrosse .
