About Jeff

Bio
Jeff is an experienced educator who has worked as a teacher, school leader, and non-profit leader, and has been recognized as an American Star of Teaching by the US Department of Education for the academic gains of his students. Jeff currently teaches 8th grade mathematics at KIPP Infinity Middle School in Harlem, New York. In the 2013-14 school year, 8th grade students at KIPP Infinity outperformed students in the affluent community of Scarsdale, Westchester, and had the highest proportion of 8th grade students performing in the top quartile on the nationally normed MAP exam in the entire KIPP network nationwide. He also serves as a Master Teacher for the Better Lesson Master Teacher Project, where his curriculum is shared with teachers around the country. Jeff was appointed by the New York State Education Commissioner to New York State’s Teacher Advisory Council. Jeff is also currently the chair of the Board for ROADS Charter High Schools, serving over-aged, under-credited, often court-involved students in Brooklyn and the South Bronx. He began his career as a Teach For America teacher in the South Bronx. Prior to his most recent teaching position, Jeff was Executive Director of Teach For America – New York, where he helped to double the site’s incoming corps size, and raised fundraising by 75% to its highest levels ever. Before his career in education, Jeff worked as a management consultant at the Boston Consulting Group, providing strategy consultancy services to Fortune 500 companies. Jeff received his B.A. in Economics and International Relations with Distinction at Stanford University, and his M.S. in Childhood Education at the Bank Street College Education in New York City.
