Students will be able to:
Compare and contrast the film version to the novel.
Synthesize the information learned from the unit of study with what they see in the film.
Analyze a quote and how it reflects Celie's growth

Students will be able to write persuasive or informative letters to Alice Walker describing their interpretation of a color purple



In this novel study students are required to do most of their reading on an independent level. These lessons should occur once a week over the course of an 8 or 9 week quarter.
