Unit: Number Sense

In this unit, 7th grade students work with rational numbers as well as identify when numbers are irrational. Students also compute with exponents, work with the order of operations, and prime factorization.

    We will be able to compute using powers and exponents.

    We will be able to solve for the square root of a number. We will be able to square numbers.

     
  3. Order of Operations

    We will be able to simplify problems using the order of operations

     
  4. Negative Exponents

    We will be able to compute using negative exponents.

     
  5. Prime Factorization

    We will be able to determine the prime factorization of a composite number.

     
  6. Greatest Common Factor

    We will be able to solve for the greatest common factor for a group of terms.

     
  7. Least Common Multiple

    We will be able to apply the least common multiple to problem solving.

     
  8. Fractions and Percents

    We will be able to convert fractions and percents.

     
  9. Fractions and Decimals

    We will be able to convert fractions and decimals.

     
  10. Decimals and Percents

    We will be able to convert decimals and percents.

     
  11. Sequences

    We will be able to describe and extend the terms in arithmetic and geometric sequences.
