Gallery Walk to Review Work

Sarah's students engage in a gallery walk at the end of a lesson to review their dream house designs. Sarah chooses this closure activity in order to support students to think bigger about their designs and to see one another's work. This gallery walk brings closure to the lesson and allows students to reflect on their, as well as their classmates' designs.

Strategy Implementation Questions
Questions to think about when implementing the strategy
  • How could gallery walks support students to self-monitor and assess their progress on this task?
  • What routines and procedures do you need to implement to make gallery walks effective?
  • How could you incorporate a self-reflection piece following the gallery walk?
Lesson Notes

One of the ways I love to get more ideas or incorporate something new is by sharing my ideas and work with my peers. I want you all to leave your home design on your table and we’re going to do a gallery walk to observe other students work. This may spark an exciting idea or change that you might want to make to your house!

Who noticed something that another student did? Who can share with me a change that they might make?
