American Pie: Interesting Words and Inferencing

Unit 9: Vocabulary Skills
Lesson 2 of 9

Objective: SWBAT to write words that are interesting and not common words we use while reading, writing, or speaking. Students will discuss the inferred meaning of the story and infer the supporting details.

Big Idea: Through a picture book, students can listen and try to understand interesting words. This lesson gives them the chance to focus their listening on the words. As they focus on words that are interesting they can try to infer the author's use of them.
