The Sphere and the Cylinder (Part 2)

Unit 8: Volume of Cones, Pyramids, and Spheres
Lesson 6 of 6

Objective: SWBAT calculate the volume of a hemisphere or sphere. Students will understand how the volumes of spheres, cylinders, hemispheres, and cones are related.

Big Idea: Using Cavalieri’s Principle to relate the volumes of cylinders, hemispheres, and cones--Hemisphere plus cone equals cylinder!
