Reflection: Gradual Release “Paying Attention to Detail” Determining Importance While Reading Non Fiction Text - Section 3: Guided Reading

 

When we tackle challenging tasks, I think it is crucial for students to practice on various levels before being able to do it on their own. Allowing students to work with a partner after working with me, gives them confidence as they share the task and have several opportunities to practice with guidance before moving to doing it by themselves.
