Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Pumpkin, Pumpkin - Section 1: Warm Up

 

I often show videos prior to instruction to help build background knowledge and vocabulary.  I was surprised at how much my students liked the video.  They sang the song from the video all day long.  The song seemed to help them remember the stages of the lifecycle as they glued the pictures and labeled them.  My ELL students seem to remember things better if a song, chant and a movement accompany the content we are learning.
