Reflection: Tree Mapping in 2D - Section 4: Closure

This activity was fantastic! It was fun, hands on and the kids loved it. I have a very challenging class this year and my most severe behavior problem students were successful with this. It was very rewarding to see how well the kids did with this. If I were to repeat this lesson, I would consider adding a couple more objects to each shape category to make it a bit more challenging.

Tree Mapping in 2D

Unit 8: Know Those Shapes!
Lesson 3 of 15

Objective: SWBAT identify 2D shapes in things they see.

Big Idea: Identifying 2D shapes in common objects and sorting according to shapes connects the real world to learning shape names and attributes.
