Reflection: Backwards Planning Intro: Convert Customary Measurement - Section 4: Closure


This lesson went well, but the students didn't remember nearly as much as I thought that they would have from fourth grade. I meant for this lesson to be a quick review about customary measurement, but then I decided to also review more specifically liquid measurement in this lesson too. If I had it to do over again, I would solely devote this day to only discussing liquid measurement, and then each subsequent day on weight and length, also reviewing the previous days' objectives.

Intro: Convert Customary Measurement

Objective: SWBAT convert a measurement from one customary unit to another.

Big Idea: Help Joey figure out how many pitchers he needs to serve the juice so everyone gets some, help out so the school supplies get to school, and help us order enough string to make scarves.
