It is important to understand that I have spent time building students understanding of facts and have gone through the progression of +1, Making 10's, N+10, Doubles, Making 20, N +9, Near Doubles, Near 10's, and Two Apart Facts.  It is with this foundation that I feel the kids are ready for fluency fact practice.

## Big Idea: Early in the year we sang Apples and Bananas and solved for combinations of 7 and 8. Now we are upping the ante and moving in numbers beyond 10. This lesson challenges the students to find all of the possible combinations for the number 12.
