Reflection: Discourse and Questioning "Skimming the Surface" Skimming to Answer Questions Explicitly from the Text - Section 2: Guided Reading

 

 I worked with students to pick out clues to use in skimming the text. With questioning, I tried to get students to explain what clues they used and how those clues help them direct their search for the answer. The questioning helped me determine if students grasp why they use the clues and this student demonstrates this.
