Reflection: Winter Holidays: Collecting Information (Day Two) - Section 4: Closure


While in the computer lab, I asked students to sit next to their holiday group members. This way, they could easily ask for help should they need it and I not be available. Also, it made sharing ideas easy. For example, at the end of today’s lesson I wanted students to share the fact they found most interesting with a group mate. Were groups not sitting near each other, this would have required extra time for students to get up, find someone in their group, find a place to sit together, and then share. I try to incorporate as many time savers as possible each day – and assigning student placement while in the lab definitely paid off in the end!

Big Idea: After collecting initial information about their holiday, students begin analyzing their information and begin learning what makes it important.
