Reflection: High Expectations Debate Research with Non-Fiction Texts - Section 1: Entrance Task

I was bracing myself for whining today and there was none! It reminded me that it is all in the delivery. I said to class, "Any great debater can debate any topic and any side of a topic. I know you all are ready for this! Sure, I could have given you the easy way, let you choose your topic or your side, but I wanted you to really stretch those smart brains of yours." I wasn't trying to manipulate them, I really believe it!
