Reflection: Modeling Segments First - Section 3: Activity, Exit Ticket and Homework

 

 

The points, lines and planes activity went really well in my class.  My students created excellent planes which met the required specifications of each question (see the link for examples of student work).   

During class notes, my students really struggled to understand what happens when 2 planes intersect. However, once we completed this activity and students created a model of 2 planes intersecting, they could truly visualize this situation.  I also found that by completing hands-on activity like this, students had an opportunity to work with each other and continue to develop a classroom culture of collaboration.
