Reflection: Student Self-Assessment Rounding Decimals - Section 3: Closer

Self-Grading (self awareness of themselves as a learner) is a type of self knowledge that students need as they move further into their academic lives (middle school next year).  They need to be able to determine if more help is needed or if they have mastered a concept.  This knowledge is crucial because they are learners in an academic setting with many other students, and can't rely on the teacher alone to identify their needs.  As amazing as teachers are, they not capable of checking for student understanding with each student, each day, on every lesson.  The student needs to become more responsible for their own their learning and know when to ask furthering questions or seek additional help.
