Reflection: Adjustments to Practice Pictures In My Mind: Using Adjectives to Create Vivid Imagery, Day 1 of 2 - Section 2: Reading of the Story and Guided Practice

I originally planned more in this lesson; however, exploring the foods took a lot longer than I thought.  We actually had to explore a few foods the next day.  Plan on a good 45 minutes or more to explore things.

Another aspect I will adjust next time is to have them write an adjective for sound as they are tasting. During the lesson, the students rolled objects across the table or shook them.  I thought that they could listen for the sound the food made as they bit into it.  The carrot and pretzels would make strong sounds as they bit into it. Finally, to get students to produce better adjectives than just good, or soft, I think I might have students talk to each other at their tables to try and generate better adjectives. This will also address the speaking and listening standards as well.
