Reflection: Intrinsic Motivation Poetry: Limerick - Section 3: Poetry Reading


    Students had worked in pairs to create the limericks.  To my astonishment, they really created unusual and silly/ humorous limericks.  Their Limerick Planning Sample  gave students focus regarding the topic and structure of the poem. As demonstrated in their  Limerick Student Presentation, students successfully created a Limerick poem together with their teams:

Big Idea: What structure and poetic devices are unique to limericks ? Students create humorous poetry with a five line rhyme scheme and peculiar rhythm.
