Reflection: Flexibility Modeling Strategy Choice: Chapter 7 - Section 2: Getting Down to Business


Lecturing is one of those things that is hard to portray accurately in a medium like this.  Even if I was able to really present my style of lecture/class discussion, who knows if it would mesh with anyone else?

That being said, I think the key to having a good lecture/discussion session is to involve the students as much as possible.  I try to avoid having students simply copy down information as I drone on.  Rather, I like a back-and-forth kind of scene where I put notes up of the key points we discuss.

I do keep notes in front of me to make sure we touch on all of the information I want the students to have, but I don't give it to them.  I lead them through a discussion that helps them come up with information themselves.
