Reflection: Staircase of Complexity What is the Perimeter? - Section 2: Warm-Up Activity

I used the quick perimeter activity as a formative assessment today. I wanted to ensure students had a basic understanding of how to determine the perimeter of a polygon with these basic squares and rectangles before they proceeded to create their own figures independently. It gave me a quick gauge of who I was going to need to pull into a small group today and who needed additional support in understanding perimeter. I pulled these students to build a more solid understanding of basic perimeter before proceeding to more complex tasks.
