Reflection: Checks for Understanding Speaking and Listening Practice For Story Order - Section 4: Assessing the Task

Assessment, in Kindergarten, is rarely "necessary," but for me, I feel like it is oftentimes needed!  I think it is extremely important for my kids that I assess their work as often as possible; this activity is an easy one to assess!  When I assess this lesson, I like to make sure students have a good grasp of the task.  Since students will be working together on speaking and listening skills, in conjunction with their sequencing skills, I think it is a perfect time for me to assess their efforts and work!  This is also an easy and good task for me to work on conferencing with my students.  If students have had difficulties with this task and/or do not show mastery, I can pull them to my table and conference with them about what exactly they are missing.  This is a great chance for me to get in and really work with my students!
