Reflection: Unit Planning Guest Speaker Reflection - Section 2: Lesson & Independent Work

This event...today was a long time in the making.  I have worked very hard to arrange every detail -from busing our students to the high school in order to hear him in the nice auditorium, to the community event, to money stress and trying to prepare my students.  I am so glad to say it was all worth it.  Mr. Gross exceed my expectations all around.

My students have had a once in a life time experience that they can look back on for the rest of their lives. No one can take it from them. They can share it with their children and the lesson goes on...

As teachers we have so many irons in the fire that it is often desirable to step back, but I implore you to go forward in terms of bringing the world to your classroom. As tired as I am, I would do it all again tomorrow. I have tears thinking about the whole experience... this is why I became a teacher.
