## Reflection: High Quality Task Multiplying Fractions: Puzzling Problems - Section 3: Independent Practice

In this lesson, students were provided a real world task to complete. The students worked well through differentiated learning, and learned how to cooperatively complete a task and well as learn how to divide mixed numbers and fractions.

The students were particularly motivated to complete the cookie recipe group task. By providing students an opportunity to work in pairs yesterday, and in a small group today, the students were supported by peer interaction, while simultaneously being challenged to collaborate in a heterogeneous group setting, and therefore explain and hear how others thought through solving various problems.
