Reflection: Lesson Planning Daniel's Dance Studio-Ordering Numbers 11-20 - Section 4: Independent Practice and Informal Assessment

This lesson is designed to be very similar to the Line Up!-Ordering Numbers 10-20. The students knew what the flow of the lesson would be.  In the video clip included with the lesson, it is obvious that the students know what is expected of them. The complete the task quickly and with very little guidance.

I think we often feel pressure to come up with something new and exciting for every lesson.  If we keep the overall structure the same with lessons that deal with familiar topics, they students can focus on the skills the lesson is teaching instead of trying to understand what is expected of them. This lesson yielded great results.  The students were able to practice and demonstrate their ability to count and order numbers 10-20.
