Reflection: Pacing Adding Fractions with Unlike Denominators - Section 2: Skill Building/Exploration


Because this lesson requires multiple calculations, I knew that it would be difficult for quite a few of the students.  That is okay.  This is just the first day of finding least common denominators.  I told my students in a few days, it will seem so easy.  I have found this to be true each year with students.  Some of the students are confusing how to find a common denominator with simplifying fractions.  We will continue to work on the skill until the students get a crystal clear picture of the concept.
