Games are a great way to reinforce a strategy and there are plenty of games that help students understand the concept of Theme. The following link is from and it offers commercials, billboard ads, and activities that you can do with students to get them to understand what Theme is: Once the students have become familiar with the stories on this website, you can turn the ads into a matching game by separating the pictures from the Themes and having students match them together. This is a fun way to generate conversations about people’s actions and the lessons we can learn from them. There are tons of great resources online for this important concept.
