Reflection: Grappling with Complexity Scaffold Lesson to Increase Deeper Understanding in Solving Problems Involving Discount, Tax, and Tip - Section 2: Bell Ringer

Scaffolding, this is a strategy that is used to breakdown a word problem in order for students to isolate specific parts of the problem and allow them to step by step answer questions that will lead them to the final answer.  Scaffolding the problem before I give it to my students will allow me to foreshadow where my students will struggle, identify what previous understanding is needed to answer the problem, and create questions to ask that will help me navigate the students through the problem without giving them the answer.
