Reflection: Lesson Planning Text Mapping Paired Text -Disasters -Part 2 - Section 2: Independent Work/Assessment


After text mapping, I think my students could tell me more about their understanding of the paired text on a deeper level, but they were not as successful as I had hoped in terms of improving their performance on the assessment.  They slowed down, but all students were not as interactive with the text as I wanted during the preview time.

In retrospect I think my mistake was using the large grouping.  To personalize their learning and allow all students to engage, next time I will use partners instead.
