Reflection: Checks for Understanding Vocabulary Quiz - Section 1: Mini-Lesson

The students took a 7th grade Interim reading test. The group I have for writing scored low on vocabulary. I have added for students to circle the context clues they are using to determine or check the meaning of words during the quiz. When students score low on vocabulary on a reading test, I am always unsure if students didn't know the meaning of the word or do not know how to use context clues. Adding this to the quiz will give me and their reading teacher more information.

After a couple of week of having students circle the context clues, I may change their vocabulary worksheet in order for students to practice context clues (adding a short story or sentences for example).
