I think this lesson is a great example of how we can incorporate writing across the disciplines in our lessons.  While this lesson is really intended to meet language standards within the ELA CCSS, I'm able to bring in our learning from other texts we've read, which then additionally connect to knowledge students are gaining in the disciplines and about the world.  I think, for those reasons, this lesson is perfect for connecting the dots of students' learning to show how instruction can weave together.
