Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Rounding and Estimation, Day 3 - Section 7: Quick Assessment

Exit Tickets are key for checking in with students. This is the last of 3 days of teaching this lesson but I urge you not to move on unless everyone has this concept down. It is too important to not spend the time!

Rounding and Estimating are going to be applied to a new concept in 5th grade -  decimals. Students need to have a solid understanding of place value concepts, as well as these strategies that we use to more easily manipulate numbers, as they begin to work with more complex numbers. Later in the year, students must be able to use place value understanding to justify or explain how to order a set of decimal values.
