Reflection: Character vs. Society - Section 1: How does society influence characters in the story?

It always amazes me the depth of my students' analysis during our character conflict discussions.  It is like they leave no stone unturned.  They are slowly but surely becoming story detectives and reporters.  This part of the lesson brought out many out of the box discussions such as the student who suddenly realized that the same scene or event can have more than one conflicting elements.
