Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Identifying Cause/Effect Relationships (Day 2) - Section 3: Assessment

Most students were readily able to find the effect of an event. It was more of a challenge to find the cause. This may be because one often has to read back (or preceding sentences) in order to find the cause, but students at this age are more accustomed to reading left to right to find meaning. It is worthwhile to take the time to explicitly teach this approach to finding the cause.
