Reflection: Student Communication Shadows 5 - Section 2: Interact with text/concept


If students are having trouble with collaborative conversations, I will model one with a student who has fairly fluent language skills.  When the students see and hear what a collaborative conversation looks and sounds like, they can, at the very least, mimic a productive conversation.  

This is enough to get them started and for those who are continuing to struggle, I will prompt and participate with that particular group.  This is a skill that takes a lot of time to develop.  Students are conversing at the most basic stages at this point in the year.
