Reflection: Checks for Understanding Preparation for the Summative Assessment of The Absolutely true Diary of a Part-Time Indian - Section 3: Wrap Up

I included an example of a student's wrap up who I felt had a basic understanding of the novels characters and themes.  The student also added a thoughtful question which we discussed before the end of class.  Unfortunately there were other students who did not give answers to this wrap up that were either incomplete or I felt were well thought out.  I think a few of them just wanted to "stop thinking" and others may not have clearly understood what was expected.

In the future I may adapt the wrap up by asking some students to share 1 thing they learned, 1 thing they liked and 1 question they may still have.
