## Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Assessing Counting - Section 2: Covering Your Foot with New Things & Counting Assessment

While I was giving the assessment today, One student demonstrated an advanced ability to count the group of counters (see video in resource section).  She started counting by ones but as she moved the counters, she organized them in groups of ten (two rows of 5).  She was able to keep the structure of ten in her head while counting by 1's.  Once I have finished assessing each student, I will show this video clip to the class.
