## Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Measuring A Foot - Section 3: Covering Our Own Foot

It is important that students learn to be accurate with their counts and that they learn to use a strategy to help them be more accurate and to have the ability to easily recount their total (CCSS.MATH.PRACTICE.MP6).  During the introduction of this activity, I took time to model such a strategy.  As students are counting, I will want to see how has a grasp on this idea and who still relies on moving one from the pile and counting.

There is a video of my demonstration of this concept.
