Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Noticing Features in an Information Piece of Text. - Section 3: Independent Practice: Text Structure handout

This lesson may seem rushed but I have so little time to get through the remaining part of this year before our big holiday break. Because students are reading smaller chunks of text, multiple activities can maximize the learning students experience in the classroom. I will admit that students must be discipline to meet teacher expectations when learning majority in groups.

My students are aware that I push for self-efficient learners when I chose to move to the role of facilitator in my classroom. The videos of student presentations shows the benefit of allowing students to learn by doing and not through teacher-led discussions.
